CBS Press was started in 1980 by Michael Creed and Sharon Strange as a strictly wholesale Thermography trade shop. The company was founded on the basis of catering to the specific needs of the printing & graphics industry for producing Thermography on business cards, letterheads, and envelopes. The focus we developed (and still maintain) was to be known in the industry as a wholesaler that produces unbeatable quality, realiability, and customer service. We geared our production for efficiency (to compete with other business card companies), but also established early on that we were not going to be known for "low-ball" pricing. Rather, CBS Press wanted to be known as a vendor that sets a "quality standard" in the jobs we produce (for a fair price). As our business grew, we discovered that there are many printers and print brokers that feel as strongly as we do about producing quality jobs for their customers.
One of the key elements contributing to our success has been the feedback we get from our customers. Because CBS Press is a privately-owned corporation, one of the advantages we enjoy over national franchises is that we are able to make adjustments to our services and options in direct response to our customer's requests. It has always been very important to us to do the most we can to help our customers serve their customers. A good example of this can be seen with every updated catalog we produce. Anytime we revise our catalog, we take special consideration to get the most popular paper stocks, ink & foil colors, clip arts, font, etc. used by our customers. This type of feedback has always been essential in helping us improve our services and give us a better awareness of our customer's needs. It was also this type of feedback that brought us into letterpress services.
In 1990, Foil Stamping and Embossing was becoming more requested as part of our services. So, we incorporated these services as part of what CBS Press could provide. A result was a significant increase in the various types of wholesale services we could produce "in-house". Our product line has expanded into Rolodex Cards and Foldover Cards. CBS Press has also started providing other types of letterpress services for embossing and foil stamping orders for the trade. So, in effect, we have redefined our role from being your average "thermographer" to being a multi-function wholesale trade shop!
As a wholesaler, CBS Press will continue to do everything possible to provide the highest quality production available in our industry. This includes making every effort to take care of our customers and help them produce quality jobs for their customers. Just as we've been doing for over 18 years, CBS Press will strive to keep current on all of our customer's needs and monitor how future trends in the printing industry can help us to help our customers.
